Domain names are probably one of the best investments you can make as without a good and unique domain name how are you going to appear like a professional?
My personal recommendation is to buy a new domain name for EVERY product or venture.

If you can find a good .com name then get it. If the .com is gone then try for a .net as second choice.
.info names are currently the cheapest at around $2.99 a year so it is easy to register many different names at no great cost.
Tie all your domain names in with a hosting plan that allows you to add multiple domains to one plan and you can get a load of sites ready for a very small investment.
